Remembering Dmitry Yakovlevich Rezun

The article examines individual aspects of the educational and pedagogical activities of the famous Siberian historian D.Ya. Rezun (1945−2012). Different periods in his biography are shown, such as teaching in high school, professional development and entry into academic science. The main attention is paid to the diverse scientific activity of D.Ya. Rezun at the Institute of History, Philology and Philosophy of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences, and then at the Institute of History of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the history of his relationships with colleagues, young scientists and his students. His personal qualities as a person and a scientist are characterized. The books on Siberian history prepared by him and published for the general reader are presented, and their role in introducing schoolchildren to the past of our country is shown. A special type of ego-sources of the current interdisciplinary branch of humanitarian research has been studied, such as dedicatory inscriptions on books, which significantly expand the understanding of the everyday life in the history of science and culture. The corpus of dedicatory inscriptions by D.Ya. Rezun on books presented to the author of the article has been introduced into scientific circulation and analyzed. Numerous oral stories of D.Ya. Rezun are presented, which supplement the history of the personal and professional life of the remarkable historian with new factual material and are a source for the history of academic historical science in Siberia.
