Museumification of the Scientific Heritage of the Novosibirsk School of Catalysis

The present paper narrates about the Museum Complex of the Boreskov Institute of Catalysis, whose special feature is the organic combination of the exhibitions of the Memorial Room dedicated to the life and work of the Institute’s directors, academicians G.K. Boreskov and K.I. Zamaraev, with retrospective collections of the catalysts and exhibition materials about the scientific achievements of leading scientists. Museum expositions are located in the Memorial Room of the founder and first director of the Institute, Academician G.K. Boreskov (1907–1984), and Academician K.I. Zamaraev (1939–1996), who succeeded him as a director. The collections of the Memorial Room are based on documents, personal scientific libraries, awards, personals, photo plates and photo albums. The historical collection of catalysts, carriers and functional materials developed at the Boreskov Institute of Catalysis and the collection of the catalysts of the Countries of the Economic Community are located in the halls of the main building of the Institute. There are also thematic photo exhibitions that present the most significant results of the fundamental and applied researches of the Institute for all the years of its existence and the leading scientists – the founders of scientific schools as well.
