The Incidence in Eastern Siberia During the Great Patriotic War

 The article presents a summary of data on morbidity in Eastern Siberia. The effect of various factors on the spread of different types of infections is considered. Much attention is paid to the impact of health actions on the structural elements of the epidemic process. The specificity of the development of the epidemic process of the main groups of acute diseases in Eastern Siberia is revealed. The author shows resistance of diseases transmissible by transfer of the pathogen to the actions of physicians; preservation of the dynamics of children’s infectionsunder the influence of natural factors, the inability of wartime health care to radically affect the course of their epidemic process.The primary role of the Soviet health care actions is manifested by a sharp decrease in the incidence of gastrointestinal diseases, which served as the basis for a significant reduction in mortality in the population of Eastern Siberia, is proved.It is concluded that during the war the relatively low morbidity rates associated primarily with the work of Soviet health care.
