 DOI: 10.31518/2618-9100-2019-1-9

The article is devoted to the peculiarities of the “national” operations of 1937–1938 in the Kazakh SSR. The “linear” actions of the Great Terror took second place in the statistics of the NKVD, after the “kulak” repressive action realized on the basis of the order of the NKVD of the USSR No 00447 dated July 30, 1937. Protocols of extrajudicial instances of the Kazakh SSR and departmental documentation of the NKVD allowed identifying ten punitive actions held in the republic. They included the “Polish”, “German”, “Harbin”, “Estonian”, “Finnish”, “Greek”, “Mixed”, “Latvian”, “Iranian” and “Romanian” operations. About 70 % of the repressed were victims of the “Harbin”, “Polish” and “German” operations. In terms of the number of victims of prosecution, those prosecuted by the order No 00593 took the first place in the series of “national” punitive actions in the Kazakh SSR.
