Аrmenian Deportation Campaing of 1949: the Attempt to Personalize and Memorialize Massive Repressions
DOI:10.31518/2618-9100-2018-1-10
The paper is devoted to the problem of development of database and its use for preparation of the memorial books. The members of the Russian-Armenian research team present the preliminary research findings regarding the deportation carried out on July 14, 1949 in the territory of Soviet republics of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia as well as Krasnodar krai. In course of this operation more than 16 000 ethnic Armenians were deported to the Altai and Narym regions as "dashnaks" and citizens of Turkey. The paper shows the prospects of creating the integration databases based on files of families' deportation kept in the National Archive of Armenia and correcting them with statistical data from the Information Centre of the Ministry of the Internal Affairs.
