Study of the Siege of Leningrad in the Writings of Employees of the “State Memorial Museum of the Defense and Blockade of Leningrad”

The article is devoted to the analysis of contemporary historiography of the siege of Leningrad and examines its key aspects through the lens of historical, social, and cultural approaches. The purpose of the study is to systematize research findings, analyze modern interpretations of the siege events, and highlight promising directions for further exploration. The methods of analysis and synthesis were used, enabling an objective evaluation of materials related to the siege period. The main content of the article includes several key aspects. First, an analysis of the occupation regime in the Leningrad region, including the development of partisan movement. Second, an examination of the functioning of Leningrad defense industry during the siege and an emphasis on its adaptation of enterprises and collaboration with scientific institutions. Third, a description of the daily life of citizens and the contribution of the scientific community to the common struggle. Fourth, a study of information activities in besieged Leningrad, including propaganda methods and their impact on the morale of the city’s population. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the systematization of historiographic sources, the expansion of interpretations of the topic based on new archival data, and interdisciplinary research. The conclusions emphasize the necessity of a comprehensive approach to deepen the understanding of the siege context, as well as the continued effort to introduce new sources into scholarly circulation.
