The Battle of Stalingrad as a Turning Point in the Activities of the Anti-Fascist Group “White Rose”

The article examines the significance of the Battle of Stalingrad as a turning point in the activities of the White Rose group, which was formed by anti-fascist students of Munich University. The article uses publications by Russian researchers (A.I. Boroznyak, I.V. Khramov), as well as foreign ones – Peter Selg, Ulrich Shossi. The diaries and letters of Hans and Sophie Scholl, Alexander Schmorel, Willie the Count were also the source of information. The issues of creating a group, students’ staying on the Eastern Front and their moving to the more active actions after the Battle of Stalingrad. The White Rose was formed in 1942 thanks to A. Schmorelu and G. Sholla. The students held resistance actions, printing and distributing anti-fascist leaflets. The last two proclamations were written after the Battle of Stalingrad. The victory of the Red Army in Stalingrad prompted young people to call the German people to rebel against the fascist dictatorship. The sixth leaflet, which criticizes the policies of the Third Reich and calls on students to counter it, was the last for anti-fascists.
