The History of One House

The article describes the history of the creation of the House-Museum of the Decembrists in Kurgan – a unique monument of history and culture; emphasizes the connection between the activities of the museum and cultural traditions laid down by the exiled Decembrists. It tells about the formation of fonds and exposition of the museum. The Naryshkins’ house, as at the time of its previous owners, today remains the center of the city’s cultural and social life. Educational, cultural and leisure programs are implemented in the museum space, among which the Naryshkinsky Fridays stand out. They were once conducted by M.M. and E.P. Naryshkin and revived in our days.
