The article presents the earliest epistles of the Belokrinitsky monk Anthony Paramonov, who was an associate and an accomplice of Abbot Theophilactus Savkin, another spiritual and intellectual leader of the Ural-Siberian Old Believers and founder of the Kazan Skete. Fr. Anthony and his writing and social activities became more well-known during his episcopacy in the Perm-Tobolsk diocese. But the creative and social activity of Fr. Anthony started much earlier. It is important to identify the ideological foundations of this activity. The circle of reading and book authorities of Fr. Anthony is being restored. Addressed mainly to the leadership of the “Austrians”, the epistles reflect the initial period of the formation of their communities in Siberia; internal controversy caused by the conflict the Siberian Belokrinitsiki societies with the old believers business elite and the episcopate. As is well known, the controversial influence of several factors affected the course of the controversy: pressure from official church and civil authorities, social and ideological heterogeneity of “Austrian” societies, and heterogeneity of the former Beglopopovism in general. This can be seen from issues addressed in the correspondence, such as conversion of the heterodox, the internal organization of communities, the independence of which was defended by the monastic and closely associated peasant communities by all the ways available to them. An attempt was made to investigate the stages of the formation of the Siberian hermit as a social and ecclesiastical figure, the formation of his creative manner, position on certain issues of the development of the Belokrinitsky societies under difficult conditions of Russian Empire.
