DOI: 10.31518/2618-9100-2025-1-23
The article traces the life of the outstanding book scholar A.L. Posadskov (1950−2024) in the context of the development of the Siberian school of book studies created by him, highlights little-known facts of the scientist’s biography. A.L. Posadskov was one of the first to begin a frontal study of the problems of the history of Siberian book culture, while simultaneously studying the key issues of the general history of Russian book culture, which did not receive due attention in all-Russian works. He has a priority in developing a scientifically based integrated approach to the study of the problems of the history of the book culture of Siberia in the 20th − early 21st century. As part of the all-Russian historical process, he developed a modern concept of the development of the Russian book industry in the 20th century, which is recognized in Russian science. The scientific results obtained by A.L. Posadskov establish the priorities of Russian science in the objective study of complex processes of history and modernity, and have a practical focus on improving the management of the socio-cultural sphere. Under the guidance of A.L. Posadskov and with his direct participation, the first fundamental generalizing work on the history of bookmaking in Siberia and the Far East was prepared and published − a multi-volume collective monograph “Essays on the History of book Culture in Siberia and the Far East”. He became the organizer of the publishing series “The History of Siberia in Memoirs and Diaries”, which introduces unknown documents on the history of Siberian culture into scientific circulation. From 1972 to 2024, the scientists published more than 500 scientific articles.
