DOI: 10.31518/2618-9100-2025-1-12
The formation of the teaching staff of each institutional educational structure is the most important factor in the success of its activities not only at the stage of formation, but also in ensuring development in the future. This publication examines the sources of formation and further replenishment of scientific and pedagogical personnel, which ensured the continuity of teaching and research activities in the field of national history in the relevant department of the Faculty of Humanities (now − the Institute for the Humanities) as part of Novosibirsk State University over more than sixty years of its existence. The factors that favored the training of highly qualified historians were noted: the presence of well-known scientists in the country in the specialized department from the very beginning, who provided the teaching of the main disciplines throughout the entire cycle; compliance in the organization of the educational process with the main principle of Novosibirsk State University, which provided for early specialization of students, practical training and involvement in the scientific topics of the basic Institute; ensuring in the activities of the department the continuity of personnel in the implementation of educational and scientific activities (now it is carried out by representatives of the second and third generations of historians, professionally connected with those who founded this direction). Continuity is achieved by preserving the originally established principle of combining teaching and research components in the work of the staff of the Chair of Russian History, which allows for adaptation to transformations in the field of university historical education.
