The article deals with the activities of the museum-reserve of the Omsk region “Antiquity Siberian” for the study, preservation and actualization of cultural heritage. Cultural heritage in the modern information society is understood as “a set of objective realities and spiritual values of the past, preserved in modern culture and forming the source of its development” (E.A. Shulepova). The study, preservation and actualization of cultural heritage is most effective in museums-reserves. A striking example of creating a special historical and cultural environment in which cultural heritage is preserved and updated is the Omsk State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Antiquity Siberian”, the largest in Western Siberia, created in 2014 in the Bolsherechensky district of the Omsk region. Thanks to the serious research, exhibition and cultural and educational work carried out by the staff of the museum-reserve, young and adult visitors are brought up to love their small homeland and the Fatherland as a whole, and an ethno-cultural and regional identity is formed. The museum-reserve has craft workshops, clubs and educational programs. In “Antiquity Siberian” a cycle of national calendar holidays is developed, Yuletide, Maslenitsa, Magpies, Easter, Trinity, Ivan Kupala, and Feasts of thr Saviour are held. The location of the complex in a place of historical development largely contributes to the preservation of the historical memory of the residents of Bolsherechye and the increase in the popularity of the “Antiquity Siberian”. Serious archival and expedition activities of the staff allow us to use the rich potential of the local cultural heritage. Interactive methods of work and theatricalization, which are used by employees in the architectural and ethnographic complex, allow visitors to fully immerse themselves in the recreated cultural environment of the early 20th century, helping to better absorb the information through emotional influence.
