The exclusivity of the personal component is a bright feature of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The purpose of the article is to summarize and analyze the experience, results and prospects of public memory of the leaders of Siberian science. The research is based on the materials of the electronic open archive of the SB RAS, a historiographic and information resource of publications about the SB RAS. Methodological basis – sociocultural approach, the provisions of mnemosophy, which actualizes “public memory” as a heritage that works for society. Various forms of public memory of scientists are considered in the concept “scientific topos”, which describes “the place of interest Novosibirsk Akademgorodok” as a settlement with a priority scientific identity, which is translated in factographic and symbolic aspects. It is noted, that the “place of interest” should be considered an innovative form of public memory. 6 monuments, 56 memorial plaques are dedicated to scientists in Novosibirsk Akademgorodok, 9 streets, 9 forest paths, 13 institutes, 25 classrooms of the Novosibirsk State University are named after scientists. The publishing house of the Siberian Branch published 41 volumes of the book series “The Science of Siberia in Faces”. In 2020, resonant events were: the celebration on a citywide scale of the 120th anniversary of the birth of the founder of the SB RAS, Honorary Citizen of Novosibirsk, Academician M. Lavrentiev; the 90th anniversary of the historian academician N. Pokrovsky; the installation of memorial plaques of N. Pokrovsky, D. Belyaev; exhibition dedicated to the Karpov sisters – M. Cheremisina and T. Zaslavskaya; new documentaries about M. Lavrentiev and G. Boreskov. The perspective of research in this area consists in the scientific understanding of the mutual influence of public memory and social myth-making, as well as the accumulation of historiographic and information resources for the successful implementation of the megaproject “Akademgorodok 2.0”.
