 DOI: 10.31518/2618-9100-2021-1-14

The article continues the study of unknown pages in the biography of the graphic artist, ethnographer and teacher Nataliya Nikolaevna Nagorskaya. The authors have identified several new archival sources containing previously unknown information about the life of Nataliya Nagorskaya in Kiev, Crimea and Moscow. On the basis of the documents from the fonds of the Russian State Archives of Literature and Art, the authors confirm the assumptions expressed in the article “Documents for the biography of the graphic artist and ethnographer N.N. Nagorskaya from the archive of the Regional House of Folk Art in Novosibirsk” (“Historical Courier”, no. 1, 2020). Tracing the generic ties of the artist’s family, the authors introduce into the research literature about N.N. Nagorskaya sources not previously associated with her personality. The article also analyzes information that allows imagining the first husband of Natalia Nikolaevna – P.P. Nagorsky. For the first time, authors provide data about the Civil War period in the life of N.N. Nagorskaya, as well as about the reason for her exclusion from the Higher Art and Technical Workshops. The first printed publications for children, in which the artist acted as the author of children’s poems and drawings are described. For the first time, Natalia Nagorskaya’s letter to the House-Museum of P.I. Tchaikovsky, in which she reflects on music and sends her liries set to music of P.I. Tchaikovsky from the “Children’s Album”, is published. Based on new documents, the authors reveal the origin of the formation of the multifaceted creative personality of Natalia Nikolaevna Nagorskaya through her attitude to the family, through comprehension of the concept of homeland. The authors also explain inaccuracies in the description of N.N. Nagorskaya’s biography that can be found in the relevant sources.
