Documents for the Biography of Graphic Artist and Ethnographer N.N. Nagorskaya from the Archive of the Regional House of Folk Art in Novosibirsk

 The article introduces into scientific circulation a number of documents related to the name of ta famous Siberian graphic artist, ethnographer Natalia Nikolaevna Nagorskaya. Through comparison of the dates indicated in the studied sources, written by the artist herself, the data on her biography from the year of birth to 1946 (when she worked in the Novosibirsk regional house of folk art) is clarified. Milestones in personal biography relate to historical events of which Natalia Nagorskaya was a contemporary at different times in her life. The creative biography of the artist N.N. Nagorskaya can be divided into several stages. Kiev period: the first years of her life, getting high school and secondary art education. Moscow period: training in VKhUTEMAS, where she performed the first serious works as a graphic designer and book graphic artist. Siberian period: arrival in Novonikolaevsk (Novosibirsk), the city where she lived most of her life; participation in the artistic life of Siberia; her development as an artist-ethnographer. Analysis of the considered autographs by N.N. Nagorskaya from the archive of the Novosibirsk regional house of folk art (ODNT) is carried out using documents stored in the fonds of the state archive of the Novosibirsk region; documents on the activities of the house of folk art from the departmental archive, the period of Nagorskaya’s work there.
