From the Editor
This issue of the journal is devoted to the study of evolution of the social status of women and their role in culture and society. This topic includes a wide range of questions and is currently being actively developed in both foreign and Russian historiography. For more than ten years in Russia the Association of researchers of women's history (RAIZHI), created on the initiative of N.L. Pushkareva, has been successfully developing. It integrates several dozens of professional scientists from different fields of knowledge, annually sharing their experiences at large national and international scientific forums.
