Vasily Mikhailovich Muravyov: the Experience of Biographical Review Based on the Epistolary Heritage

The article is devoted to the most important aspects of biography of Vasily Mikhailovich Muravyov, who was aide-to-camp to the governor-general of Eastern Siberia N.N. Muravyev-Amursky. The authors characterize the events of V. M. Muravyov’s life and his personality on the basis of a set of personal sources, mainly epistolary, and within the framework of the historical concept of «a second person». The article creates an image of a young man in public service in the middle years of the reign of Nicholas I.
